Into the world of competitive eating – Pete “Pretty Boy” Davekos
4th of July only comes around once a year, (obviously) so with the traditions of fireworks, cookouts and pool parties, also comes the tradition of the Nathans Hot Dog eating contest held at Coney Island in New York.
We welcomed Pete “Pretty Boy” Davekos to the show, less than 24-hours before he was going to step behind the table of the Nathans Hot Dog contest and begin his quest of knocking off the champ Joey Chestnut.
What a fun interview! We learned a lot as Pete took us inside the world of competitive eating and shared the many secrets that exist. Did you know water isn’t what those buns are dunked in? Did you know he (as well as the others) know the exact weight capacity of what their stomach can hold (to the exact pound)? When asked if all the eaters just head to the locker room after the contest, his answer will make you laugh.
