BHR Takes On DC Servathon 2012
Special thanks to the over 35 volunteers who joined the @BallHogsRadio/@Plan4UrFuture DC Servathon Teams.
We had the opportunity this past Saturday to be a part of a DC Servathon community that consisted of thousands of volunteers located all throughout the city working on various projects to help revitalize the city of DC.
Our team was assigned the task of cleaning the Anacostia Park waterfront. We painted the roller rink, cleaned trash along the Anacostia River, helped landscape different parts of the park and worked the pier.
The cleaning provided some challenges and some fun… Tools and equipment were distributed. Most importantly, gloves were given to all, cause you never know what you may find and have to get your hands on:
The service project lasted from 9-12 before we joined the other groups in Dupont to celebrate the day and Rock The Red for the Caps big game 5 win!
As this has become an annual tradition for Ball Hogs Radio we’d love for you to join our team come next April.
